김 미 숙 Kimmi (MiSuk KIM)South Korea, b. 1983 김미숙은 국내외에서 가장 인정받고 있는 옻칠화가 중 한 명이다. 그녀는 매우 다루기가 까다로운 한국 전통기술인 옻칠 기법으로 찰나의 아름다움을 천년의 아름다움으로 재탄생시켜 주로 꽃과 여성을 그린다. 옻의 원료에 천연 안료를 혼합하여 색을 만들어 나무에 칠한 뒤 적정한 온도와 습도에서 말리고 또다시 사포로 갈아내는 험난한 수행과도 같은 과정을 통해 더욱 깊은 색감과 독특한 질감을 표현한다. 또한 금박, 은박, 난각, 자개를 사용한 다양한 공예 기법이 그녀의 작품에 아름다움을 더한다. 이렇게 탄생한 옻칠화는 항균,방충 효과가 뛰어나 1000년이 지나도 변하지 않는다.
