임 희 조 HeeJo LIM South Korea, b. 1988 임희조 작가는 1988년 서울에서 태어나, 서울 동국대학교에서 서양화전공으로 학사와 석사학위를 취득했다. 졸업 후 다수의 그룹전과 공모전에 참여하였고 전업작가로 활동하고 있다. 일상 속 소재들을 단순한 도형으로 풀어낸 대상은 기존의 내재된 상징 보다 작가의 주관적 흔적들로 이루어진다. 작가의 주관적 흔적은 자유로운 곡선으로 둥글거나 꿈틀거리는 덩어리로 만들고 익숙한 듯 낯선 상황으로 보인다. 선택한 대상의 구성요소는 다소 생략되거나 비설명적으로 형상화되어 평범한 듯 엉뚱한 듯 미묘한 분위기를 자아낸다. 이런 미묘한 분위기로 인해 편안한 소재들로 기존의 스테레오타입의 귀여움과는 다소 다른 귀여운 매력이 발산되는듯 하다. 단순하게 표현된 형상과 덧붙여 기본색으로 이루어진 색감은 붓결이 드러난 과감한 붓질로 작가의 조형성을 도드라지게 한다. Artist Hee jo LIM was born in Seoul in 1988, and received his bachelor's and master's degrees in Fine Art from Dongguk University in Seoul.After graduating, she participated in numerous group exhibitions and contests and works as a full-time artist.The artist interprets and objectifies ordinary materials in everyday life as simple figures. Objectified expressions are reconstructed as subjective expressions of the artist rather than existing inherent symbols. Free curves are made into round or wiggly lumps, and these are seen as familiar and unfamiliar situations.
